Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Item upgrading allows players to upgrade their weapons and gear with new affixes, boosting its stats base or adding additional perks. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory and access the kiln.
Items that have weak bases, such as rings, can be upgraded into stronger bases. Items with bases that are strong, such as Titans from eth, have no change in their stats.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, armor, weapons and gathering tools, giving an attribute bonus or extra effect when the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, or found in loot from enemies, or obtained from missions and chests. Some upgrades additionally have special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a specific level to upgrade.
To upgrade an item of armor, the user must choose it and click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. The preview will appear on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected upgrade stats will be and also the required element or material required to complete the upgrade.
There are three types of upgrade components including universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, such as gems, are able to be put on any type of equipment. They provide a smaller bonus than upgrade components that have a type restriction. Infusions are gems that are only available in legendary and ascended equipment. They offer the same benefits as jewels, however they cannot be used in other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They will add the suffix at the end of the item's name. For instance the addition of the suffix Glyph would make a Staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.
In the instance of upgrades for gathering tools If a player replaces one glyph with a different one the previous glyph will be returned to the inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component will damage it, excluding inscribed glyphs that can be swapped.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade system is different from the previous versions in a few important ways. Gear is now classified into tracks and each item can only be upgraded so many times before it's "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level up however, the materials needed aren't as high. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the effect of those items, rather than spreading the cost of upgrades across several pieces.
This will allow the item to receive new upgrade components and a higher chance of success. This bonus is known as Artisan’s Energy and it resets at 0 if the upgrade fails, or increases if the upgrade succeeds.
After a piece has been upgraded to its maximum level, it is able to get affixes to boost its attributes. The number of affixes that are available will depend on the item's class. For example an uncommon or rare weapon with a base that is normal will only have two affixes to choose from, whereas legendary armors will have up to eight affixes available for it.
Each upgrade requires a certain number of Flightstones and crests, depending on the item's current level and the slot it's in. Weapons typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.
If an item fails to reach its maximum level, the NPC grants the player the choice to transfer it to a different character and re-infuse the item with a different set of upgrades. This process can take between one and two hours and cost the same amount of materials. However it has a lower rate of success.
Engineers utilize a level to compare the height of the building against an established location, such as a benchmark. This method is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings using the backsight rod and level and then turning the level and making the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to a high level of accuracy and safety.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of changing an item's upgrade components. It is a crucial aspect of the game that can boost an item's damage, strength, or other attributes. You can do this via the item menu, or by pressing the Reroll button when you upgrade an item. Rerolling can be costly and should only be performed in very rare instances.
The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, which can be used to earn reroll tokens. These tokens can then be used to upgrade the original item or an item of the same type. Recyclable items come with an indicator of the level which shows how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The amount of level that has been filled is contingent on the rarity and upgrade cost of the item.
In the past, some upgrade items were affixed with priority that made them easier to roll for than others. It meant that you'd get the most crucial stats to your build more frequently than other items. This included stats like the armor's total armour, thorns and diminished duration due to control or the weapon's bonus attack speed and strike chance.
This was changed in the latest patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same chances of rolling for every stat. This can be good or bad, depending on what you want and need from your equipment.
Each upgraded item can also come with a bonus that boosts the power of the item by a specific percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are added to standard affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the better your chance of getting the bonus of your choice.
The game also comes with various sets that offer a set-based bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are equipped on an item. This is an excellent way to add a lot of power to a character without spending lots of money.
Many players choose to reroll their gear and weapons, particularly in the beginning of the game. Rerolling can offer a quicker path to a powerful character which allows them to achieve higher levels and advance in the game more quickly.
Sets
Sets are groups of elements that can be arranged in various ways. They can have different sizes, contain none at all, or contain just one element. They are useful for organizing data or sorting information. They also aid in analyzing patterns. Sets can be categorized in many ways, such as by size and shape.
item upgrader of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom provides an extensive selection of upgradeable set items. Certain items are worth upgrading while others aren't. Upgrades are worth it for armor sets that offer high defense value and set bonuses. However, weapon upgrades often don't improve the quality of the item's stats when compared to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if you already have a lot of armor or weapons already.
Set items can be upgraded to include unique functions that are beneficial for specific builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are examples of this. Both were upgraded to Extraordinary Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements also increased).
Upgrades can also be made to bring certain items to the level of the tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, comes with a wide range of levels ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower-level items could enhance their defense, and improve their performance when it comes to damage.
To determine if an item is worth upgrading, players must click the Upgrade button on their character screen. The attributes of the item will be displayed, along with any required items. For instance the No-mouth face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also verify the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.
In general the jewelry and weapons have better trade value when fully upgraded than armor. Particularly for weapons with damage glyphs for spells or weapons upgrading them to gold is recommended as it will result in a significant improvement in their stats. Weapons with an upgraded appearance will benefit from this upgrade because its defense will increase as it goes from purple to gold.
